Lentils with Bacon

Ingredients, serves 4
- 200 g bacon
- 1 onion
- 400 g lentils (1 tin of lentils)
- salt, pepper,1 bayleaf
for the dumplings:
- 250 g cut rolls (dry rolls cut in cubes)
- 50 g butter
- 2 eggs
- 3/8 l milk
- 100 g flour
- 1/2 onion
- salt, pepper, nutmeg
Preparation
Cut bacon in stripes, roast in a pot medium size. Add the chopped onions. Rinse the lentils well before adding, stir, add water. Add spices. Steam for 15 minutes.
Serve with roll dumplings. For the dumplings mix the white bread or roll cubes with melted butter. Add the beaten eggs, milk, roasted onions, mix well, add ground nutmeg, pepper, salt and then add the flour. Make dumplings with wet hands and let steam in softly boiling salted water for about 20 minutes.
